catching the purple train

Today, after months of begging, I finally took the boys on the Seattle Streetcar (formerly named the South Lake Union Transit or SLUT - another post for another day). This was by far the cheapest thrill we had all summer. For a buck seventy five, we rode in purple style from Lake Union to downtown Seattle. During our food court lunch downtown, Holt told me, "Japanese people eat a lot of sushi because sushi comes from China."

let the rain begin
The summer is disappearing right before our eyes. Actually, I'm not really sure it ever came but as the rain pours down outside, I'm pretty sure it's gone.
Holt completed his last week of camp on Friday and will be starting his new school, Discovery Montessori, in a week. Matt and I accompanied Chaz to the summer picnic at Nanny's preschool on Thursday. He started Nanny's this summer but officially bgeins the 2-year-old class on September 9th. Wow...two kids in preschool...what will I do with all my free time?

a ferry adventure
Four months have passed since my last post. Oops. Clearly, things have been busy. Our summer has been great. We've traveled to North Carolina and California and done all kinds of fun things around Seattle.
Today, I took the boys on an adventure to Bainbridge Island.
We loaded up the mountain buggy....

And set sail for Bainbridge Island - a 35-minute ferry ride....

We walked into the town of Winslow. I pushed 105 lbs of stroller and boys a mile uphill to the kid's museum.
We ate lunch followed by a milkshake dessert....
We caught the 12:15 pm ferry back to Seattle just in time for naps. What a fun day!
